On May 8, leaders from South Georgia traveled to Warner Robins to present a unified pitch for $3 million in grant funding to launch the ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ฒ.
The WIN (Workforce Innovation Network) College and Career Academy would serve students from Valdosta City Schools, Berrien, Clinch, Cook, Echols, and Lanier counties school systems. The proposed academy would provide hands-on training and career pathways for high school students across the regionโpreparing them for the workforce and postsecondary education.
This effort is part of the Georgia College and Career Academy Project, which will award just one grant statewide for FY26.
โThe united commitment from these six communities reflects our shared vision for building a stronger future for our students and workforce,โ said Mary Beth Brownlee, director of the One Valdosta-Lowndes and lead grant coordinator.
โThe WIN College and Career Academy will expand access to hands-on learning, technical training, and career pathways that lead to real opportunities for South Georgia students.โ
