Many hands make light work, and your help will be an important part of bringing the
Lowndes Longest Table to a successful close.

Whatever your talent or interest, there is a place for you at the table. We need a dedicated crew of 100+ volunteers to make the event a success. While the location is still to be determined, the event is scheduled to take place between 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2026.

Volunteer opportunities

Set-up:

Approximately 50 volunteers needed

Help us set the table for something special! Set-up volunteers will help transform the event space into the Lowndes Longest Table and prepare for the arrival of approximately 400 neighbors from across our community.

Volunteers will assist with setting up and arranging tables and chairs, placing event materials and table items, preparing designated areas, and helping with other general set-up needs.

This volunteer role will involve standing, walking, bending, and some lifting. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Clean-up:

Approximately 50 volunteers needed

Help us leave our community gathering space better than we found it! Clean-up volunteers will assist immediately following the Lowndes Longest Table to help make the breakdown process quick and efficient.

Volunteers will assist with clearing tables, collecting event materials and trash, breaking down and moving tables and chairs, organizing reusable supplies, and helping ensure the event area is clean.

This volunteer role will involve standing, walking, bending, and some lifting. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Table Hosts:

Approximately 100 volunteers needed

If you are a good listener, enjoy meeting people, and believe in the value of bringing neighbors together, we invite you to volunteer to be a Table Host to help guide meaningful conversation.

Table Hosts will be assigned to individual tables and will guide discussion using provided questions and prompts, encourage everyone at the table to participate, and help keep the conversation respectful, inclusive, and on track.

Table Hosts do not need to be experts, public speakers, or have all the answers. Their role is to facilitate—not lead—the conversation, making sure everyone has an opportunity to be heard and that different viewpoints are respected.

Because Table Hosts play an important role in creating a positive and productive experience, participation in a pre-event training session is required. Training will provide an overview of the Lowndes Longest Table, facilitation techniques, conversation guidelines, discussion prompts, and guidance for handling challenging or sensitive conversations.
